Club Notes

It was a busy week for the club with teams competing from u10 all the way up to seniors. Thanks to all the coaches and mentors who prepared and lined out their teams to represent the club.

U12

Our 12s took on Drumlane and served up a very entertaining game thanks to all the players and management

U14

Our U14s took on Crosserlough without several regulars but the team stepped up to the mark and every player gave their all as they eventually lost out to a fine Kilnaleck side. The most satisfying aspect of the game for these young lads was that they kept going and despite being up against it managed to create some very good scoring chances and there were some fine passages of play. You can see the hard work that the mentors are doing starting to come through. The management will be pleased to get a chance to see all of their charges in action and they and the squad will all keep working hard

U16

Much the same story for our 16s as we had a perfect storm of injuries and were taking on the form team of the league Southern Gaels (Gowna/Lacken). The team however tore up the script in the early stages of the match and might have been at least 1-06 up early on but unfortunately did not take their chances. Eventually the game went the way of the visitors but Tony and the management team have a lot of positives to take out of the game with many of the players who got their places, taking advantage of the opportunity. Despite the defeat a semi final palce at least is still attainable.

Reserve Division 2

Our Reserve Division 2 team played Maghera and won to remain as the front runners in the division. After a hiccup last week Pat Connell's team went about their task to return to winning ways. Barry Balfe got the two opening scores before Keith Soden tapped over the first of his goal and six points tally, Sean Brady, Sean O'Reilly and Laurence Caffrey also got on the score sheet. Daniel Rourke then scored a special goal as he latched on to a good pass to chip into the net. Pat will be pleased with the style of play and the chances created but will now be looking forward to the next game

Senior Division 1A

Ramor took on Lavey on Sunday and recorded a comprehensive win (Match Report Section)

* Ramor U10s and Lavey u10s played a very entertaining match also on Sunday thanks to both sets of parents, players and mentors.
